Part 1, Marshal Petain and Adm. Darlan board the bomb-damaged battleship Dunkerque and inspect the French fleet at Toulon. French Amb. Henri-Haye arrives at the Department of State in Washington, DC, to hear of the U.S. break with Vichy. Shows cyclists in the streets of Paris. Milk trucks in Seattle are pulled by horses during a gasoline shortage. Part 2, Adm. Nimitz decorates Navy heroes of the Pearl Harbor attack. Army personnel are decorated at Hickam Field. Part 3 shows ersatz foods developed at a college in Lubbock, Texas. Part 4, Lord Halifax inspects Royal Air Force (RAF) cadets in Austin, Texas. Part 5, baseball player Monty Stratton pitches again after losing a leg in a hunting accident. Part 6 shows ruins in Rangood, Burma, after a Japanese bombing. "Flying Tigers" take off in P-40 planes and shoot down a raiding Japanese plane. Part 7, quadruplets join the Army in Fargo, North Dakota.
